If you're feeling the call to work with ayahuasca, you're probably wondering: What actually happens during a 10+ day retreat? Will I be in ceremony every night? Will I be able to rest? Will I even recognize myself at the end?

At Pandorita, we guide 11-day ayahuasca retreats in Costa Rica designed to take you deep, gently, safely, and with intention. Here’s what you can expect when you enter this sacred process with us.

Guests preparing for an ayahuasca ceremony during a multi-day retreat in the Costa Rican jungle at Pandorita, guided by indigenous shamans.

Arrival: Stepping Into a Different Rhythm

From the moment you arrive on the land, the pace shifts. Surrounded by the Costa Rican jungle, time slows down. You’ll be welcomed by our facilitators and shown to your space: simple, beautiful, and immersed in nature. We start with rest, orientation, and quiet grounding. No rush. No pressure. Just space to arrive and breathe.

Ceremony: Deep, Guided Healing With Shipibo Shamans

We hold several ayahuasca ceremonies during the retreat, typically spaced to give your body, heart, and mind time to integrate.

Our ceremonies are led by experienced Shipibo shamans, whose healing songs (icaros) guide the energy throughout the night. The space is deeply protected, respectful, and attentive. You are not left alone in your process, ever.

You’ll be held by a team that knows how to listen, support, and care for what arises.

Integration: Where the Real Work Happens

What happens between ceremonies is just as important. During the retreat, you'll have time and space to:

  • Share in group circles

  • Rest and reflect in nature

  • Journal or create

  • Speak 1:1 with facilitators

  • Swim in the ocean or enjoy quiet solitude

We don’t cram in workshops or lectures. We make room for you to be with what’s unfolding, in your own time.

Food & Care: Supporting the Body During Deep Work

We serve nourishing, simple meals that support the ayahuasca dieta - clean, plant-based food with minimal stimulation. Your body will be supported with:

  • Fresh, whole foods prepared with love

  • Lots of hydration

  • Time to rest, stretch, and restore

Cleansing is part of the process, physically and emotionally. You’ll be supported through every stage.

Community: You’re Not Alone

Even if you come alone (many do), you’ll be in a small group of people walking a similar path. There’s a bond that forms - through silence, through laughter, through ceremony.

Many people leave with lifelong connections, and even if you don’t say much, you’ll feel the quiet solidarity that comes with shared transformation.

Closing & Return: Going Back, Changed

The last days of the retreat are gentle and spacious. We slow down, reflect, and help you begin the process of returning. You'll leave with more clarity, more softness, and often more questions to explore. But you won’t leave empty-handed. You'll carry something that stays with you.

Integration isn’t just a phase. It’s the rest of your life.

Every ayahuasca retreat is unique - but at Pandorita, we’ve found that spaciousness, trust, and deep care make all the difference.

We don’t rush your process. We walk beside you in it.
